The East Harlem M/E/C Center will embody a complementary mix of building types and uses designed to activate and enhance the surrounding neighborhoods. The East Harlem M/E/C Center will become a business, retail and entertainment destination for East Harlem residents and others; the East Harlem M/E/C Center will provide increased opportunities for the residents of East Harlem to live, work and play.
The East Harlem M/E/C Center project will generate approximately 2,500 full-time permanent jobs and 4,300 construction jobs. In addition to immediate employment generation, the project will result in significant and ongoing economic benefits through City and State tax revenues. The East Harlem M/E/C Center will also act as a powerful catalyst to bring visitors to the East Harlem Area.
